NET´s GigEPRO camera line features advanced real-time image processing functionality and full GigE Vision standard, GenIcam and GenTL compliancy. With GigEPRO customers can choose from already available and custom NET image processing functions, apply own image processing functions or even decide for a combination of all in order to achieve efficiency improvements in image processing. The “Open Camera” concept allows experienced customers and system integrators to customize the camera with proprietary in-house algorithms for niche vision applications.

Image processing systems in GigE networks benefit from GigEPRO´s capacity to perform real-time onboard image pre-processing due to the improved resource-efficiency of central host PCs and the utilization of speed potentials of applications. Moreover, with GigEPRO customers can create an unique camera by means of customization with the Open Camera concept.

What means "camera integrated real-time image pre-processing"?
GigEPRO cameras perform image pre-processing and feature extraction tasks before the data is sent to the host PC. This is done by GigEPRO in real-time. Real-time describes the ability of camera technology to perform image processing functions at such speed - or infinitesimal time - that the clock cycle of the customer application is outperformed. In other words, the camera operates at a sufficient speed for any industrial application.

What is the customer benefit of the "Open Camera Concept"?
GigEPRO is also offered as “open camera” enabling the customer to add image pre-processing functionalities, like proprietary in-house or NET algorithms, to the camera by himself. Thus, GigEPRO is fully configurable by the customer and fits perfectly the application requirements. Customers are provided with everything needed for the development and test of algorithms, which takes place on a development platform. The Open Camera concept offers great potentials to applications in regard of unique camera features (exclusivity), security (encryption), or even algorithm combinations for custom image results.
